Abstract
In the last decade the border security has become one of the most important issues of worldwide security, exerting a decisive influence over the globalization of international relations, over commercial relations, over asymmetrical risks, over different forms of cooperation – including military for fighting international terrorism which affects the economy of all the nations on a regional or even planetary level. Considering that Romania’s state borders are the external borders of the European Union, NATO and in the immediate future the Schengen external borders, including a good part of the Danube, the competent bodies face a great challenge that they must overcome, especially on the administrative and legislative levels.
