Abstract

What would Europe be without the Danube? What would it be without this river which flows through ten countries, which receives water from thirteen countries and is the back of the Central and Eastern Europe? Ideal means of communication, waters and rivers have always been ways in which you entered the unknown regions. Civilization seeks water. But they also have also been obstacles because of their size or rapidness. Danube has been a means of communication and an obstacle. Greeks have not exceeded the iron gates. The Romans are the ones that have a real Danube border.
