Risk Analysis and its Role in Securing the Waters from the EU External Border

Abstract
In this paper we propose to emphasize the importance of the risk analysis in preventing and combating cross-border crime, especially trafficking in human beings, of illegal migration and smuggling, in all its forms, especially at the external maritime and river borders of the EU. Last but not least, this tool may have an important role in preventing tragedies and in the reduction of casualties.
