Danube Image in the Poetry of Bessarabian Lyricists

Abstract

This article explores the mythological basis of the Southern Bessarabia lyricists’ poetry (Michael Vasilyuk, Valeria Vykhodtsev, Tamila Kybkalo, Vladimir Reva, Vladimir Simeyko and others). The author consideres in detail individual representation of the Danube myth in the authors’ texts, as well as describes a wide range of imaginative structures and various associations of individual modes of Danube theme by Bessarabian poets in the context of the general folklore and artistic traditions of Ukrainian culture in diachronic and synchronic dimensions.
