The Impact of Internet and E-commerce on Economic Growth

Abstract

Dynamic and rapid development of ICTs enabled the radical change in traditional commerce activities. Feature of the internet is the absence of intermediaries; the manufacturers are able to sell their products relatively easily to buyers via the internet. With this background, the present paper discusses the ways in which e-commerce give information to the consumers. E-commerce has revolutionized business, changing the shape of competition with internet creating an e-commerce market place. With developments in the Internet and Web-based technologies, distinctions between traditional markets and the global electronic marketplace are gradually being narrowed down. In the last period of time, Moldova has shown tremendous growth in the Ecommerce. Growing use of the PC and Internet is one of reasons for that. The present paper mainly aims to discuss the role of Internet and E-commerce in economic growth.
