Abstract

The current stage of development of the Ukrainian state is accompanied by very tense events. Decentralization of power, consolidation of local communities in case of ignoring ethnonational factors can lead to unfavorable results on the scale of several subsequent generations.

One of the most fruitful methods of preserving national identity in modern conditions is the approach to interdisciplinary dialogue in the didactic field. Learning Foreign Language is an effective stage, reflecting literature from the perspective of a complex of sciences that study the space of culture. So, the works of AK Tolstoy, the poet-interpreter of the ХІХc., demonstrate the consolidation of cultures of the past centuries. Essential is the ability to use of AK Tolstoy’s works in the process of teaching a foreign language in terms of building cultures and national characters of our time.
