The International Workshop “Performance and Risks of the SME sector in the regional and global context” will be hosted by “Danubius” University of Galati, Romania.

Town in eastern Romania, Galati county seat and Danube port, it was first attested in 1445 (in an official document signed by Prince Stefan Voda) but the existence of this city dates long back before this year, the city Galati having an important role in regional trade by 1484. Since the 18th century, Galati has become the largest trading port of the lower Danube region. The city was awarded the regime of “Porto Franco” by Prince Mihail Sturdza, between 1837 – 1883 and hosted the European Commission headquarters of the Danube since 1856 until 1939. The population of Galati numbers about 327,975 inhabitants (an 1997 estimate).

The town of Galati, located on the left bank of the Danube, 80 km from the Danube Delta, is one of the largest junctions in the Romanian commercial transport, connected to the main European transport routes: river route, i.e.  Rhine – Main – Danube linking North Sea to the Black Sea, rail route, with ensuring the transfer between the railways of Europe and former Soviet countries, and makes road connections with European countries through a dense network of county, national and European roads.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • October 15 30 October  – Preliminary paper registration (title and abstract of the article);
  • October 20, 05 November – Notification of acceptance;
  • October 25 11November  – Registration of paper and participation (completion of registration form and fee payment);
  • 1November 12 November- Sending final version of papers for publication.

The participation fee is EUR 100 for work, including the workshop folder containing: the workshop program, coffee breaks, lunch and festive dinner.
