ROMANIA, member of the European Union, is situated in the southeastern part of Central Europe and shares borders with Hungary to the northwest, Serbia to the southwest, Bulgaria to the south, the Black Sea and Ukraine to the southeast and to the north and the Republic of Moldova to the east. Roughly the size of Oregon, Romania is the second largest country in the area, after Poland. Romania extends approximately 485 km (300 miles) North to South and 650km (400 miles) East to West.

The Romanian-American University is a private university in Bucharest, Romania, which offers courses and degrees in English. It was founded in 1991.The initiative for setting up the University belonged to Ph.D. Ion Smedescu, who is the founder and Rector of the University, active member of the American Academy of Sciences in New York, President of the Romanian-American Foundation for the Promotion of the Education and Culture, in the activities of which the University is integrated.Romanian-American University is aimed at promoting the educational values of American higher education and the rich romanian traditional education.
Conceived as an alternative and complementary form to the public high education, the University has 6 faculties in its structure, among which 5 economical ones and a juridical one, that is: the Faculty of Internal and International Commercial and Financial Banking Relations, Faculty of Management-Marketing, Faculty of Internal and International Economy of Tourism, Faculty of Managerial IT, Faculty of Studies of the European Economic Integration, Law School.

 

GALATI, city in eastern Romania, capital of Galati County, and a port on the Danube River was for the first time documentary attested in 1445 (in an official document signed by Stefan Voda) but with an existence before this date and with an important role in the regional commerce after 1484. From 18th century, Galati city is the biggest market on the lower Danube.The city was declared 'Porto Franco' by its domn Mihail Sturdza since 1837 until 1883 and Galati was the seat of the European Danube Navigation Commission from 1856 to 1939. Galati town, placed on the left bank of the Danube, 80 km from the Danube Delta, is one of the biggest knots of the commercial traffic in Romania, connected to the principle European communication corridors: on the fluvial way to Rhine- Main- Danube linking the North Sea with Black Sea, through the railways it is assured the transfer between the European gauge to that used in the ex-soviet countries; the road transport is realizing on a dense national and county roads network. The “Danubius” University of Galati, Romania is a non-profit institution of higher education, a juridical person of private law and public utility, part of the National Education System, established by the Law no. 409/2002, which functions according to the Romanian Constitution, the law on education, the status of the teaching staff and its own Carta approved by the University Senate. BACĂU is the main city in Bacău County, Romania. It covers a land surface of 43 km², and, as of January 1, 2009, has an estimated population of 177,087.   The city is situated in the historical region of Moldavia, at the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, and on the Bistriţa River. West University was founded by the decree law no. 660 issued on 30 December 1944, which stipulates that a university must be created in western Romania. Its first faculties either were dissolved or became independent institutions. These independent higher education institutions became a sole university at the end of September 1962. That is why October the 1st is mentioned in the University Charter as University Day; it is not only the day when the academic year begins but also the day when the difficult process which had started on 30 December 1944 ended, when the efforts of creating the university were crowned with success. An essential mentality change took place in the perception of the academic institution, in accordance with the democratic institutions in Western Europe. A substantial institutional reform was carried out, beginning with the redefining of the university’s mission by establishing its objectives.  International par excellence, The West University of Timişoara has partnerships with over 100 universities worldwide.
