Abstract
Considering the enormous personal and professional value of mentality – a special socio-psychological education associated with mindset, the spiritual values of the individual and national traditions of society, our attention was drawn to the phenomenology of professional mentality. The analysis of the scientific fund on this issue permits to suggest that as an important part of professional mentality of the teacher acts, on the one hand, his world perception of the historical and ethnographic specificity of the region, in which its vital functions are, and, on the other – professional competence in the education of the patriotic feelings for the «small homeland», value attitude to regional cultural heritage, ecological culture and needs to local history research at younger generation.
