Abstract
The article deals with the content of critical thinking in the modern European space. Taking into account the direction of globalization, the development of critical thinking in the lessons of the native language in schools of Ukraine acquires ethno-cultural meaning: the formation of the younger generation not only the desire for a pragmatic attitude to the European space as a single economic, ideological, educational, cultural plane, but also to preserve their national identity, cultural uniqueness and historical memory.
