Abstract

The Cucumis metuliferus is a species form Cucurbitaceae family, who grown and appreciated since ancient times. The fruits and leaves in this family have shown special properties: anti-diabetic activity [1], for wounds, obesity, skin diseases, tumors, cough and bronchitis [2]. The isolated alkaloids from of the extract reduced the clinical signs seen in Newcastle disease and demonstrated ant hemorrhagic activity[3].The analysis of mice show that there is a possibility of the presence of antimalarial phytochemical in the leaves. [2] The objective of our work is a comparative study of fresh and dried extracts from leaves of Curcumismetuliferus specie. A preliminary phytochemical study on leaves extract of Cucumis metuliferus was performed. We demonstrated the presence of different compounds classes with dosage method and antioxidant activity DPPH, FRAP, ABTS, TAC. Comparative study demonstrated variety chemical composition of flavonoids and polyphenols in fresh and dried extracts and different antioxidant capacity.
