Abstract

The blue economy is an essential pillar for the sustainable development of the Danube regions, capitalizing on the economic potential of the waters and associated ecosystems through practices that protect the environment. It stimulates the creation of green jobs, innovation and regional connectivity. The Danube Region integrates the principles of the blue economy through several strategic directions and concrete initiatives that will be analyzed in this research. The region benefits from strategic support and European funds dedicated to the Danube basin that can contribute to sustainable economic and social development and environmental protection.

The work represents a continuation of previous research in this field, and the methods used lead to important results for investors, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders interested in prospecting the European blue economy.
