Abstract

The 1947 Peace Treaty, signed by Romania and the victorious states in the Second World War, constitutes one of the most important legal documents of the post-war organization of the world in general and of Central and Eastern Europe in particular. The Peace Treaty signed in Paris on February 10, 1947 between Romania and the Allied and Associated Powers represents the international legal act by which the state of war between Romania and its former adversaries was officially ended, at the same time establishing the post-war borders of the Romanian state, resulting in a somewhat special relationship with the Soviet state.
