We are in full transformation in all spheres of social life, the changes occurred "volens - nolens" because of various factors that make their presence felt in everyday life. The rapid scientific-technical advance that far exceeded our capacity to comprehend and as a result the emergence of controversies between different paradigms regarding the future evolution of our world (globalization / deglobalization, pragmatic education vs. universal education, knowledge vs. competencies, cognitive intelligence vs. artificial intelligence, information technology vs. technological information, etc.) require rethinking / reforming education systems worldwide.

Romania is no exception to this imperative. It remains to be seen whether the future education law, which came into public debate during this period, will fully address the series of challenges that universities, in particular, face.

"Avant la lettre", Danubius University of Galati has taken important steps in this direction. The higher education developed in this institution has accumulated beneficial experiences in “mixed education” which can be presented, as examples of good practices, to the Romanian and European university community.
