Enhancing Middle School Students' Mathematical Learning with an Intelligent Support System
Last modified: 2024-07-17
Abstract
This study investigates how artificial intelligence is transforming mathematics education through the creation and application of an Intelligent Support System utilizing Wolfram Mathematica. This system facilitates the generation of customized learning resources indefinitely for students with a strong interest in mathematics. By merging findings from neuroscience with AI, the system enables personalized, accelerated learning experiences, thereby maximizing the potential of each learner. The support system consists of three primary elements: assessing individual learning traits and current skill levels, organizing educational content and adapting study techniques, and developing personalized algorithms to optimize the learning environment. The efficacy of the system was evaluated with 60 middle school students, split into control and experimental groups. Results demonstrated a significant enhancement in the experimental group's performance, underscoring the system's effectiveness. Both students and educators provided positive feedback, highlighting how the system enhances the efficiency and engagement of mathematics education.
