Last modified: 2025-07-20
Abstract
This paper explores the classical fairy tale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs within the educational context of the "Land of Fairy Tales" project. The analysis focuses on the story’s central values, emotional and moral dimensions, the significance of its characters, and its broader cultural impact.
Key values conveyed through the tale include kindness, innocence, friendship, and the triumph of good over evil. The narrative highlights the importance of inner beauty, compassion, and trust, while also warning against envy, vanity, and deceit. Sentiments such as fear, joy, hope, and sadness are interwoven throughout the storyline, offering children an emotional journey that reinforces empathy and resilience.
The moral message of the story emphasizes the rewards of virtuous behavior and the eventual downfall of evil intentions. Snow White serves as a model of purity and forgiveness, while the Queen represents the dangers of excessive pride and malice. The Dwarfs, each with distinct personalities, symbolize solidarity, hard work, and loyalty.
Comparative analysis with other literary works—such as Cinderella or The Sleeping Beauty—reveals recurring motifs like the persecuted heroine, magical elements, and the final restorative justice. The story has inspired numerous film adaptations, including Walt Disney’s iconic 1937 animated version, which remains a cultural reference point. Additionally, various derivative products (books, theater plays, educational materials, and digital content) continue to disseminate the narrative across generations.
The project encourages students to explore classical literature through multimedia resources and creative expression, fostering both critical thinking and appreciation for universal values transmitted through storytelling.
