Abstract
Teaching and learning have been fundamental aspects of humanity since time immemorial. Wehave always needed to prepare successive generations for survival, primarily through informaleducation within families and clans. The establishment of nation-states led to the formalizationof teaching as a profession. The evolution of teaching as a craft reflects a progressiveadvancement in educational theories, learning psychology, classroom management, andpedagogical strategies.However, despite these advancements in teaching theories, the basic structures of teaching andlearning have remained essentially unchanged for over a century. Over the past two to threedecades, there have been predictions that modern technology would disrupt traditional teachingand learning practices. These predictions have intensified with the rise of the ArtificialIntelligence (AI) revolution, which is expected to have a significant impact on education.The anticipated changes in education remain a primary focus for universities and scholarsworldwide as they discuss how to reform schooling in light of widespread technologicaladvancements. This presentation aims to explore how Danubius International University istaking bold steps to reconceptualize teacher training and education as a foundation for the reformand transformation demanded by AI and technology.
