Digital Pedagogy in Initial Teacher Education for Primary Education: From Digital Literacy to Interactive Educational Design
Last modified: 2025-07-20
Abstract
The digital transformation of education requires a profound revision of how teachers in primary education are trained. Within the Bachelor’s program Primary Education Pedagogy, developing digital competencies can no longer be treated as a secondary element but rather as a transversal axis supporting pedagogical innovation, learner-centered education, and responsible technology use. This paper explores how digital pedagogy is integrated into the initial training of future primary school teachers through courses, technology-assisted teaching practice, interdisciplinary projects, and digital micro-credentials. Tools such as interactive platforms, digital portfolios, gamification applications, and multimedia lesson design are analyzed. It is argued that the 21st-century digital teacher must be not just a technology user but a creator of innovative educational experiences focused on active and personalized learning.
