The Role of the Teacher in the Era of Digitalization of Education
Last modified: 2025-07-21
Abstract
In the context of digitalization, the teacher becomes an essential actor in the transformation of education. His role expands from a simple transmitter of information to a designer of learning experiences, innovator and emotional support. Digitalization does not replace the teaching staff, but challenges them to redefine their mission, combining traditional methods with advanced digital skills. Success in this new educational landscape depends on flexibility, continuous training and openness to innovation. The teacher actively contributes to the formation of responsible citizens, adapted to the demands of contemporary society. The rapid transformations in society, driven by digitalization and technological progress, have profoundly influenced the education system. The contemporary school has become a flexible and digital space, where learning takes place both face-to-face and online. In this new context, the role of the teacher is being redefined: from a simple transmitter of knowledge, he becomes a learning facilitator, educational designer and mentor. Digitalization requires the acquisition of new skills – especially in the use of information technologies, virtual classroom management and the creation of digital educational resources. Thus, the teaching staff must be adaptable, engage in a process of continuous training and respond to the new pedagogical, social and ethical requirements of modern education.
