Abstract

The right to happiness is a concept reintroduced into the sphere of fundamental rights starting with the year 2012. In the present work we will go through some historical landmarks of the development of this concept and we will analyze the way in which this right is understood today. Public institutions and civil society have at their disposal a series of levers through which they can develop this new interpretation of the right to happiness. Our analysis we will try to bring closer to the general public and the academic world a series of factors that can influence the subsequent development of the right to happiness: maybe statistics and artificial intelligence can influence public policies and the digital revolution can turn into social involution. How far is the practical applicability of the right to happiness from being achievable if we only take into account global statistics and forget the particular nuances of each generation, nation or civilization.
