Abstract

This study aims at identifying the basic characteristics of the doctor-to-patient communication process. The picture of the relationship between the doctor and the patient implies understanding the complexity and subtlety of interpersonal behaviors. Thus, the study aims at identifying whether the difference in social status (education, income, prestige) influences the communication between the doctor and the patient, to identify the approach of the patients by the doctors, to discover the most important feature of the character (patience, calmness, sincerity, fairness, respect) of the doctor awaiting patients. Two opinion polls on the social relationship between the doctor and the patient were applied to the current study. Each questionnaire is structured on a set of 12 questions, a questionnaire is addressed to doctors and one patient. The questionnaires met the research objectives and were structured into several categories of questions.
