Abstract

In this paper we propose an approach to the main trends in the evolution of the foreign trade of Romania at this present period. We are studying the global developments of the export and import flows, as well as the distribution of the main trading partners of our country, and also the changes occurred in the trading partners' as a result of Romania's integration into the EU structures. Based on these results, there were established the Romania's relations with the riparian Danube countries. By choosing this theme, we intended to highlight the great potential represented by the Danube in achieving the trade exchanges between countries, and to resume an earlier idea of an achievement of integration for the riparian countries into a trade union, which would contribute to a substantial increase in trade. In order to achieve this, we will use a statistic-mathematical instrument, which will be accompanied by graphs methods in sustaining the results. In order to analyze the data and make the graphs we use the free software R Studio, which is the source for quantitative data analysis and also through the "comtradr" library, which allows us to access the data from the database of the United Nations Organization. Our aim is to approach the proposed theme, but also to present the utility of R Studio's software to the study of economic problems, in order to be useful both for academic purposes: for research and as study-case for students, and also for the business medium.
