Abstract
The article is devoted to the literary activities of Sergei Tuchkov, the founder of the city of Izmail. A connection is established between the General's "Notes" and his lyrics. Attention is focused on the social, moral and philosophical aspects of Tuchkov's poems, their genre diversity, as well as on the creative individuality of the poet.
