Abstract

It is very important to study the corrosion of metal alloys in the oral environment, because this process

may affect the biocompatibility of prosthetic dental work.

Investigating the biocompatibility of Co-based dental alloys is necessary to demonstrate whether and how they are biocompatible with bacteria and acidity in the oral cavity. In this sign we studied three types of alloys from different companies with different percentages in terms of their composition.

Thus, the selected metallic alloys used in fixed prosthetic works were experimentally investigated in different solutions by using electrochemical methods such as: open circuit potential (OCP), polarization resistance (Rp) and dynamic potential polarization (PD).
