Abstract

This paper presents a comparative analysis of movement within a mechanical transmission, before and after a flexible spring coupling. For that purpose, it was performed a serial mounting of three shafts, with one rigid coupling between the first two and one flexible spring coupling between the second and the third shaft. During a running period of 120 s, with the use of two uniaxial accelerometers, there were recorded acceleration values before and after the flexible coupling. Such a study was intended to determine whether the tested coupling can be usefull in reducing the irregular movement of a mechanical transmission, and if so, to what degree.
