Last modified: 2018-05-30
Abstract
The paper aims at highlighting the new attitude of the states bordering the Danube, expressed by signing the Sofia Border on June 29, 1994. For the first time, the riparian states showed interest other than that related to the navigation regime, taxes and fees, respectively protection and sustainable use of the Danube. In this context, Romania has been and is concerned with ensuring the protection of the environment in the Danube basin located on our territory. In accordance with the European and international regulations, natural areas protected by a different regime of protection, conservation and use according to categories of national, international, community, county or local interest were established by internal normative acts in accordance with European and international regulations. They consist of scientific reserves, national parks, natural monuments, nature reserves, biosphere reserves, etc. Of these, we selected the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve, the Small Ballet Nature Park of Braila and the Iron Gate Natural Park.
