Abstract

Climatic changes that have manifested themselves significantly in recent years through very high temperatures and periods of prolonged drought have led to abnormal decreases in flows as well as the elevations of the river Danube. These consequences required dredging actions to preserve the minimum depths necessary to maintain navigability and support the transport of goods on the river Danube. Thus, the complex dredging program in the critical points of the river Danube made it possible to maintain normal conditions for the traffic of ships and barges on the river Danube.
