Last modified: 2025-06-11
Abstract
One of the tools for ensuring sustainable development in a given region/community is tourism, as it represents the strategic support for communities that have established a sustainable development strategy, on the two important pillars that respect the environment and culture. The Danube tourist area is of managerial interest in the context of national and international regulations, regarding tourists, workers and tourism entrepreneurs. Socio-economic development strategies from the perspective of sustainable Danube tourism are based on natural resource management and eco-system promotion, which have as a central pillar the Danube riparian communities, "Danube management" and the promotion among tourism agents of the capacity to visit, access services from sustainable Danube tourism. Thus, the need to initiate, approve and implement strategies and management of Danube tourist destinations was identified. Their development takes into account the optimal use of optimal resources, the specificity and socio-economic and cultural traditions of the Danube bordering community areas and the increase of beneficiaries and benefits of communities and providers and service provision in the field of sustainable Danube tourism.
