Specialized Vocabulary of the Danube Region as a Vector for Targeted Training of Profession-Oriented High School Pupils

Abstract
The purpose of teaching English vocabulary is the formation of lexical competence, which is understood as knowledge and ability to use language for communication purposes. High school pupils, along with the further activation of their everyday vocabulary, study profession-oriented lexis, which enhances the role of specific exercises that contain terminological, polysemantic and international words. Active use of specialized vocabulary, is grounded in the emergence of a large number of units to designate new concepts, objects and phenomena that appear in connection with the rapid development of all spheres of human activity. The specialized vocabulary of the Danube region concerns Danube River shipping, surrounding vast ecosystems, economic development of civil enterprises and environmental protection. Such vector presupposes the study of terms and professionalisms related to river management, navigation, wild life and eco-systems. Today, English certainly is the language of international and multinational corporations, tourism and science, media communication and business correspondence, which determines topicality and social importance of the investigation of the problem, concerning professional coaching of high school pupils.
