Danubian Culture- A Desideratum or a Reality

Abstract
Beyond the geographic, historical or ethnic reality, the fundamental dimensions of the European identity or, more likely, determinant factors of it, the circumscribed culture of the Danubian space seems to be the mosaic type whose diversity is considered to be a favorable premise for the European construction. The Proximity of Danube to cultural spaces so diverse, conditioned by race, language and religion, different from one country to another, does not mean also an automatic determination, but, more likely, a factor that obliges to think at some strategies that generate a multiple and diversified interest for what must become a common civilization of the river, a true axis of the European identity. This work targets not only the description of the Danubian cultural reality, but also to outline possible strategies for this kind of construction.
