The Revival of Transport on Danube and EU's Role in Achieving this Desideratum

Abstract
Based on one of the great opportunities offered by the Danube, i.e. the shipping on both the European Union as a whole, but also in the member states bordering the river, they are becoming more interested in achieving the river transportation artery between the Black Sea and the North Sea. The Trans-European Rhine-Main-Danube system could become the waterway axis of European importance, which, through this river, could connect countries from the western, center of the continent and from the Black Sea. Providing the conditions for shipping in good conditions, suitable for various types of ships for such navigable artery, it would result, in addition to the substantial increase in the volume of transported goods, the diversification of these goods including the operation of those with high value and also the development of a variety of activities connected to water transportation.
