Abstract

In adolescence there are five areas of development that help the teenagers know themselves better, and constantly adapt to age-specific changes but also to the environment and the challenges induced by it. In order to better understand this age stage, various theorists have analysed these psychological and social aspects of development and how they influence the changing adolescent.

These five developmental dimensions of identity, autonomy, bullying, sexuality and achievement help adolescents to shape their maturing personalities, to define themselves and integrate into their society.
