Last modified: 2024-07-22
Abstract
This article explores the adoption of digital portfolios as an innovative method for assessing school performance. The aim is to understand how this tool can enhance student success and educational outcomes in an ever-evolving technological landscape. Drawing on the sociological theories of Pierre Bourdieu and Jean-Claude Passeron, as well as the studies and works of Ryan and Zimmer, Chen, Barnes, Mason, Bramble, and others, the authors emphasize the importance of digital portfolios. This research addresses the need for modern assessment methods and examines previous studies on the effectiveness of digital portfolios in school environments. The study employs a literature review to analyze the implementation and benefits of these portfolios. Methods include qualitative analysis of student engagement, performance data, and feedback mechanisms. Findings indicate that digital portfolios significantly improve student performance, engagement, and motivation. Students using digital portfolios achieved higher evaluation scores and demonstrated greater involvement in the learning process. The study's implications are relevant for teachers, policymakers, and education administrators. Integrating digital portfolios into the curriculum can lead to more personalized and effective learning experiences, thereby improving educational outcomes. This article contributes by presenting a framework for implementing digital portfolios in schools, highlighting their potential to transform traditional assessment methods and enhance educational success.
