Abstract

The biggest challenges regarding digital education were faced by physical education teachers who had to adapt all their activities towards another format, with different ways in which they would go about teaching their students and with other resources. All these changes enabled the vast majority of teachers to sharpen their skills when it comes to online activities, whether it be physical education at school, sports clubs or vocational education. Physical education handled through digital media came forward with a series of risks (lack of control over the teacher’s activities, unsuitable work space, external distractions, injuries, etc.), but the benefits cannot be ignored (encouragement to engage in individual activities, becoming accustomed to using personal belongings in order to engage in physical activity, enabling other family members to take part in such activities, etc.). After a thorough study regarding the risks and benefits of conducting such lessons through digital media, the continuity of these activities presents itself with many opportunities moving forward (creation of educational content accessed digitally, tasks and indications in digital format, the appearance of groups on different digital platforms with common interests, etc.). Even if physical education and sports classes have a different format now along with a vast range of content, if the teachers manage to combine the practical aspects of their job with digital technology, they will undoubtebly be able to attract the majority of students to physical effort, even the less energetic ones.
