There are two main objectives of this POSDRU project: 1) quality management training of the personnel working in health care organizations in Romania and 2) launching the first quality awards initiative in the Romanian health care sector.

Prior Work

The project is meant to be a PPP (public-private partnership) between the The University of Medicine and Pharmacy Tirgu Mures and Pegas Sisteme de Management, a management consulting company. Both  partners have been active for more than 10 years in the field of education (higher medical education - The University of Medicine and Pharmacy Tirgu Mures and quality management education - Pegas Sisteme de Management). Also, the project is deeply related to the accreditation of hospitals by CoNAS process, which is meant to start in June 2011.

Rolling the project and achieving the planned results will involve different types of activities: advertising the activities of the project, planning and execution of the training sessions, planning and execution of the TRUCTMARK® awards initiative.

570 persons trained in the field of quality management, 80 persons trained in the field of environmental management, 6 awards for organizations acting in the health care sector in Romania

The project raises awareness about the importance of performance excellence in driving the Romanian healthcare sector,  provides healthcare organizational assessment tools and criteria, educates leaders in healthcare organizations about the practices of best-in-class organizations.
