Website Optimization (SEO) for Search Engines

Abstract

This study, titled Website Optimization (SEO) for Search Engines: Case Study of cerasus.ro, examines the theoretical and practical aspects of search engine optimization (SEO) for eCommerce platforms. Conducted by Bercaru Nicolae under the supervision of Conf. Univ. Dr. Bucea-Manea-Țoniș Radu and Lect. Univ. Dr. Ing. Antohe Valerian, the research highlights the importance of SEO in improving online visibility, increasing organic traffic, and enhancing user experience.

The paper analyzes key SEO components, including website structure, PageRank factors, and the use of analytics tools for performance monitoring. It emphasizes the role of hierarchical site architecture, SEO-friendly URLs, internal linking, and navigation elements in facilitating efficient indexing and crawling. Additionally, the study explores technical optimization methods such as URL rewriting, HTTP redirects, and the use of mod_rewrite, as well as the management of duplicate content through canonical tags and sitemaps.

The impact of JavaScript on SEO is also evaluated, with proposed solutions such as server-side rendering and progressive enhancement. Furthermore, the research addresses the risks associated with Black Hat SEO techniques and promotes the adoption of ethical optimization practices.

The case study of cerasus.ro demonstrates the practical implementation of SEO strategies across front-end, middleware, and back-end layers, leading to improvements in visibility, traffic, and conversion rates. The findings confirm that effective SEO requires an integrated approach combining technical optimization, quality content, and continuous performance analysis.
