Abstract
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into mental health care represents a transformative shift in psychological assessment, intervention, and support. This review examines current AI-driven solutions, including conversational agents, virtual therapy platforms, and predictive mental health analytics, with a focus on their efficacy, accessibility, and scalability. Empirical evidence regarding outcomes, user engagement, and clinical effectiveness is synthesized to evaluate AI’s potential to augment traditional therapeutic practices. The article further addresses critical ethical, privacy, and algorithmic bias concerns, emphasizing the limitations of AI in replicating human empathy and clinical judgment. Finally, the review identifies key areas for future research, including personalized intervention strategies, cross-cultural applicability, and regulatory frameworks, to ensure safe and effective implementation of AI technologies in mental health care.
