Abstract

This study aims at exploring one of the most important aspects related to entrepreneurial activity, namely the quantification of competitiveness. Given that national competitiveness influences well-being and is directly related to GDP per capita. We set out to conduct a comparative analysis of the competitiveness of certain countries in Central and Eastern Europe through the cross-country multiple regression method. Starting from the evolution of the general competitiveness index published by WEF for the studied countries, we set out a statistical analysis on the link between the general competitiveness and the various components of some pillars within this general index. The study has both theoretical applicability on the use of the statistical method of multiple cross-country regression, and practical because it presents a comparative analysis of competitiveness for countries in the same region, respectively Central and Eastern European, but which have certain features depending on the national specifics of economies.
