Administrative-Territorial Units from the Perspective of the Administrative Code

Abstract

The administrative organization of the territory is defined as “the delimitation of the territory of a state into administrative-territorial units, delimitation made for the purpose of unitary achievement of power”. Our country has a system of administrative organization of departmental level territory, with an intermediate unit, represented by the county.

In this article, using the logical interpretation, the study of doctrine and jurisprudence, starting from the provisions of the Administrative Code, we aim at highlighting aspects related to perspectives in the administrative-territorial organization of Romania, the regime of changing the territorial boundaries of administrative-territorial units, and the dimensions of the legal personality of the administrative-territorial units.

In conclusion, it can be said that the system of administrative organization of the territory has a great influence on the place and role of the authorities at the level of administrative-territorial units.
