Abstract

The teaching of the modern Bulgarian language in educational institutions of the Ukrainian Danube region has a thirty-year history. As one of the subjects of the school curriculum, the Bulgarian language is studied from the first grades of primary school in settlements with a compact Bulgarian population. In the conditions of the city, the involvement of children in learning their native language is complicated by the lack of a stable Bulgarian-speaking community, the Bulgarian dialect is used only in the family circle. Acquaintance with the literary norm of the native language in preschool age meets the requirements of the State Standard on the development of a child's language competence and personality development. The skills of using the Bulgarian vocabulary acquired in the preschool educational institution become the basis for further study of the native language, form the child's interest in learning about the family and ethnicity, and develop a sense of tolerance and a positive perception of the diversity of the surrounding environment.
