Variability in the Ukrainian Southern Bessarabia Dialects

Abstract
The article presents the territorial variation of the Ukrainian Southern Bessarabia dialects, doublets, variants differing in nuances of meaning and use, basic and sporadic variants (strong and weak norm), options in terms of dynamics, archaic and innovative forms, options in terms of language contacts, specific and borrowed forms, etc. The author outlines and comments on the concept of variance in modern linguistics, the terms variant and invariant, highlights variance in terms of semiotics, including the opposition of variation of form / meaning, presents the typology and hierarchy of variants etc.
