Last modified: 2025-06-18
Abstract
The author studies Ovid's reflection on the Lower Danube region as a marginal space based on his collections of poems Tristia and Epistulae ex Ponto, written during his exile in Tomis between 9 and 17 AD. The research tasks include a description of the landscape of the Danube lowlands, ethnographic sketches of the everyday life, clothing, and customs of the inhabitants, and the geographical advantages of the Lower Danube region during military operations.
