The Provision of the Necessary Facilities of the Navigable Communication on the Lower Danube in the First Half of The XIX-th Century

Abstract

The main problems connected with arrangement of trade communications on the Danube at the beginning of the XIX-th century are considered in the article.  The author studied the processes of the construction of ship canals in the region, the economic actions of the governments of Turkey, Russia and Romania, directed to the development of the infrastructure of the river ports, the creation of the merchant marine fleet on the Lower Danube. The consequence of these reforms became the development of foreign trade, the improvement of the infrastructure of the ports of the region, the emergence of ship canals that promoted the modernization of economy of the region.
