Abstract

The sociolinguistics studies a wide complex of the problems connected with the social nature of language and its functions in society. Social roles of the man and the woman are dictated by existing sociocultural norms, representations about "typically man's" and "typically female" are relative. The article deals with gender stereotypes and their representation in German literature.
