Abstract

The transition to Education Technology in Romania has been forced and accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic crisis. In 2022, EdTech should facilitate and enhance learning. But, is this the reality of the current state of education in Romania?

The concept of EdTech refers of bringing new technologies in education in order to create a more engaging and inclusive environment for students and to offer them the possibility of an individualized learning experience.

EdTech changes the quality of education but the direction of these changes depends on many factors. This influx of technology has a great impact of teaching and learning process, and this impact may be positive if any stakeholder in this process (academics, students, parents, administrators of the university, potential employers, core-authorities in the field of education, and etcetera) understands and assumes their role or negative, otherwise. Shaping and transforming education for the better, should be a common goal and consequently a joint effort. The advancement of EdTech in the near future should increase the quality of education, but having EdTech tools at our disposal is a necessary condition but it is not a sufficient one.

Taking Romanian educational system to the next level is a must if we want to live in a society prepared for the current global challenges.
