Abstract

The Danube is the river that marked the evolution of every town through witch it flows, even  of the countries. The biggest influence of the Danube was manifested in Romania because most of the route it has from the source until the mouth passes through our country. The newspapers that made reference to this river even in their title where found not only in the towns along the Danube, but they we’re found even in the major cities from Moldova or Tara Romaneasca. For example, in Iasi was published a very important magazine named Dunarea. In Galati the first newspaper was named Dunarea, and it was published in 1846. In Braila the first newspaper that made reference to Danube was Daniubiul, from 1870, but it only lasted four months. In the year 1883 was published another newspaper that was linked with the river, it was called Dunarea Braila. In the year 1884 it appeared at Tulcea the first publication witch made reference at the river, named Dunarea de Jos. It was an important publication, which appeared with pauses, from 22 Dec. 1884 until Apr. 1989. Here it was also published in 1989 Istrul magazine. These facts demonstrate that the Danube is an important factor in the evolution of regions and this matter is shown by the Danubian journalism.
