Abstract
The analysis of publications, placed in № 11 (2010) of the Russian magazine “Motherland” (official site: http://www.istrodina.com) is presented in a review «River as a Bridge». Examined articles are incorporated by the general theme of Danube with the investigation of its geopolitical, economic and cultural function. A separate unit is presented by the publications, devoted to the estimation of the personality and Danube victories of the famous Russian war-lord Alexander Suvorov. The articles of other block are focused on Danube as a center of Balkan world on the material of folk-lore and literary sources.
