Abstract
In the Danube geopolitical context, Galati is distinguished from other river towns by its placing at the junction of Dobrudja Hercinian plateau and that of Covurlui, which entails its inclusion in a tectonic line of seismic interest. The geomorphological affinities and differences have become in time crucial elements of urban and economic development of the surrounding area, which includes an economic adjustment of the strategy according to the coordinates outlined above. The local strategy insertion in a European one requires knowledge of the geographical specificity of the area with a maximum scientific rigor.
