Overview

Danubius International Conference Centre announces the 7th edition of the Annual International Conference on European Integration - Realities and Perspectives.

 The 7th EIRP Conference is organized by Danubius University of Galati, Romania, in collaboration with Jean Monnet University, Saint-Etienne, France will be held in Galati, at the seat of "Danubius" University, during May 18 -19, 2012.

The central theme of this series of events focuses on the EU integration. The participants, academics and researchers, meet yearly, during the second decade of May, in order to exchange information and to conceptually debate the EU integration, its effects on the European citizens, key statistical facts on major European policy areas, the European Union progress but also the issues that remain. The purpose of the Annual International Conference on European Integration - Realities and Perspectives is to provide a forum for exchange of ideas, research outcomes, business case and technical achievements. Subjects of mutual interest debated during the previous editions of the EIRP Conference Series included, but were not limited to: government debt, world trade, environment, migration, information society and dependency on energy imports.  

 

The EIRP 2012 Conference advances for discussion the following main sections:

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: 

 

 Professor YVON PESQUEUX, CNAM (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers), head of the Chair “Développement des Systèmes d’Organisation”   

Research Interests: Management, Philosophy and Ethics, Business and Society, Corporate Social Responsibility

He has published several scientific articles. His last books link Organisation and Politics and Stakeholder Theory: A European Perspective. He is also Editor of Society and Business Review and a member of the SFM (Societe Francaise de Management).

Professor EMANUELE FELICE, Autonomous University of Barcelona

Research Interests: Economics, Economic History, Long-Run Economic Growth, Income and Social Indicators, Regional Development and Regional Policies, Economic Statistics and Applied Economics, Business History.

Emanuele Felice is professor of Economics and Economic History at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He made extensive research on Italy’s regional inequality, where his outcomes include well-established estimates of regional GDP from Unification until our days. He also worked on business history, economic policy, development economics, and, more recently, has contributed to the reconstruction of Italy’s national accounts over the long-run.

He holds a BA degree in Economics from the University of Athens (1976) an MBA in International Business and Finance from De-Paul University Chicago USA (1979) and a Ph.D in International Economics and Econometrics from the University of Illinois Chicago USA (1983).  He is a European Chair Jean Monnet in European Economic Integration (1997) and he was Head of Maritime Studies  and Director of MSc. He is the Founder and the General Editor of the International Journal, European Research Studies first launched in 1998.
